MAGICAL KENYA TO WORK WITH THE 2025 MISS TOURISM GLOBAL TO SHOWCASE THE DESTINATION

Nairobi – Friday, October 24th 2025… The government through Magical Kenya will work closely with the recently crowned Miss Tourism Global 2025, Miss Michelle Otieno, as a global ambassador to further showcase Kenya as a leading tourism destination.

Miss Otieno who won the prestigious Miss Tourism Global pageant at a ceremony hosted in Malyasia, bringing together contestants from over fourty countries, jetted back to the country earlier today, to a colourful reception at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).

Speaking after her arrival Miss Otieno said; “It is a great honour to win this pageant, this is not only for me, but for every Kenyan dreamer who believes in the power of our stories and landscapes to captivate the world.”

Miss Otieno then paid a courtesy call to the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism, Rebecca Miano, where discussions focused on leveraging her title to promote Destination Kenya across key international markets.

Speaking during the meeting, the Cabinet Secretary said; “This remarkable achievement not only honors Michelle as an individual but also elevates Kenya’s status as a leading destination for tourism, culture, and sustainable travel on the global stage.”

“The Miss Tourism Global initiative aligns seamlessly with Kenya’s national tourism strategy, emphasizing sustainable and responsible tourism. We will collaborate closely with Miss Otieno, through the Kenya Tourism Board and County Tourism departments to roll out a year-long campaign that highlights Kenya’s varied tourism offerings, eco-tourism projects, and community-based initiatives.” She added.

This campaign will seek to not only promote sustainable tourism initiatives that align with global trends, but also inspire youth and women to participate in tourism promotion and creative economy initiatives.

It will involve media appearances, dynamic social media engagements including, professionally produced destination videos, and partnerships with key influencers designed to enhance awareness and encourage travel to Kenya’s counties.
